WE'RE HOME!!

That phrase is so bittersweet! Leaving the people that we have grown to love in Africa was heart breaking, but seeing those we love here has been heart warming. Thus the mix of emotions. As I process the experiences that I went through this summer over the next few weeks, I will post more of what I have learned from this experience and what things have been life changing. I have looked through my pictures several times and I miss my African family. I must go back. I don't know when, but hopefully sooner than later.

Now on to address the teaser that I left you with last post. Yes, I did jump off a cliff. Amber, Euan, Grant, and I spent a day at Oribi Gorge where we did something called the Wild Swing.

swing.

Sounds nice and child friendly, right? haha....no. What they forget to add to the first part of the name Wild Swing is Free Fall for 110 meters. We got harnassed up and jumped off a cliff, flying like a bird before the cable finally caught and swung us away from the cliff. When the swing finally stops, they pull you back up on the ledge. It was the scariest and most amazing thing I have ever done. We have video of this - I will try to post it next week. For now you can use the pictures to piece together a mental image. :)

the view at the gorge was gorge-ous
Amber and I ready to go

the green cable is what we were attached to before we jumped - it was a long way down

Musa got my cable ready to go
then I jumped....video coming soon
